Hyssop –  general data and medicinal properties

Character: a pungent bitter, dry, warming

Medicinal Properties:  Hyssop (hyssopus officinalis) is prescribed for pleurisy (inflammation of the lung lining).  It is often combined with Rue for added benefits for phlegm and asthma. Hyssop  relaxes peripheral blood vessels, expectorant, reduces phlegm, induces sweating for fevers, colds, and infection, anti-inflammatory used externally, anti-viral for Herpes Simplex, anti-spasm and relaxant

Constitution:  tannins, bitters, flavonoids, volatile oil
