Sugar-Free Artificial Sweeteners and Disease
“Sugar-Free” Artificial Sweeteners Cause Cancer
When you are eating foods or drinking beverages with these sweeteners, you are putting yourself at risk of developing a variety of diseases including cancer. Here are 5 artificial sweeteners and what risk you exposed to;
1. Sucralose (SPLENDA) — increases permeability of the intestines and colon, especially in patients with colorectal cancer and ovarian cancer. It disrupts the gut microflora and increases gut dysbiosis which is unhealthy bacteria. Sucralose increases the risk of gut dysbiosis which leads to autoimmune diseases, neurological, psychiatric, and cardiovascular diseases, and cancer.
2. Sodium Benzoate— this is commonly found in energy drinks and foods. It is linked to neurodevelopmental disorders like ADD, ADHD, inflammatory diseases of all kinds, and asthma
3. MSG-– this is a flavor enhancer which is found in many foods, especially Asian prepared foods both in the grocery store and in restaurants. It is considered so dangerous that the Arizona Center for Advanced Medicine have concluded it increases the growth of cancer cells in the body and is a neurotoxin. MSG causes headaches, brain lesions, rapid heart beat, and even leads to Parkinson’s. Research has found MSG to slowly poison the cells of the entire body because it accumulates in the NTS region of the brain. MSG increases the risk of autism and damage to the brain and nervous system. Newborns exposed to MSG may result in a delayed onset of autism including from a nursing mother’s milk.
4. Acesulfame Potassium (acesulfame-K) often found with sucralose to help hide unpleasant aftertaste. It is highly inflammatory even in small doses and may increase the risk for
atherosclerosis because it causes abnormal functioning of high-density lipoproteins (HDL). Acesulfame is associated with increased risk of leukemia, thymus cancer, breast cancer, and chronic respiratory disease.
5. Aspartame-– is a neurotoxin– this artificial sweetener disrupts serotonin and has been found to cause depression as well as psychotic and emotional disorders. When cancer cells are subjected to aspartame, it increases their mobility and they are more active. As aspartame breaks down in the body, it breaks down into formaldehyde which damages the nervous system and increases carcinogenic activity (cancer causing). It is particularly a risk to increase the incidence of leukemia and lymphoma and encourages the metastasis of cancer and risk for multiple myeloma.
