Dieting Tips For Cold Weather

Staying warm in the winter while trying to lose weight, often leaves us feeling chilly.  To help with this, here are few tips I use and find very helpful.  If you focus on eating more cooked vegetables and drinking more broths and fluids along with specific teas, it is easy to shed a few pounds.  Eliminating breads and all grains is a must. Replacing these grains with cooked vegetables will help you feel warm and more full throughout the day. Take 2-4 psyllium husk pills with meals and this will help balance blood sugar as well as keep you feeling more full while eating lighter foods.  Enjoy winter in good health!

DIETING TIPS FOR COLD WEATHER

Here is a great way to shed some pounds with very little effort while staying warmer in the winter months–

1. One of my favorites; take 1 cup of organic vegetable broth, heat it, then add 1 serving of medicinal mushroom powder. The one for dieting is maitake and the serving size is 5 grams. For dieting, this can be used twice daily using 5 grams each dose.

2. For more benefit to the weight loss benefits of maitake, try taking it in the hot vegetable broth and add 1 teaspoon of garcinia cambogia powder. This should be consumed 1 hour before eating a meal. If you eat two meals daily, take 5 grams of maitake + 1 teaspoon of garcinia before both meals. Garcinia also helps to produce more serotonin- this will help you feel happier during the dieting process!

3. Drink 3 cups of hot Nettle Tea each day between meals; 1 in the AM and 2 cups in the afternoon. This not only warms you up but it helps reduce water retention.

4. Drink 5 cups of hot green tea daily between meals. Adding ginger root to your tea also helps facilitate more weight loss. Drinking both of these teas daily, you will improve your fluid intake since tea counts as part of your water intake. 3 cups of Nettle Tea +5 cups of Green Tea = your daily fluid intake.

5. Combine your green tea with Detox Tea for added benefits. There are many detox varieties available;  Standard Body Detox, Lymph Detox, Liver Repair, Liver Detox, Kidney Cleanse, Blood Detox, Bowel LAX, etc.

6. Take 2 tablespoons of coconut oil daily- this balances the thyroid. To get this into your diet, even you don’t like coconut, dissolve a teaspoon in coffee or tea, 3 cups– this equals 1 tablespoon. Also take 1 teaspoon by mouth and just swallow it, right before each meal, 3 x and you have the second tablespoon, for a total of 2 tablespoons daily. Coconut oil is brain fat without cholesterol.  It also helps to soothe and repair nerves. Coconut oil can help you to feel less agitated throughout the dieting process as well.

7. Cook your vegetables– eat a nice large portion of steamed vegetables instead of a salad. It helps keep you warm and you can also melt coconut oil or other healthy fat over them- this also helps you to lose weight.

8. The other favorite of mine; Upon rising, take the Collagen Supplement. This dissolves nicely in hot water. It not only warms the core but helps tighten skin as you lose weight. Taking extra vitamin C during dieting will also help you to produce more collagen.  Vitamin E will help your skin have better snap back because it improves elasticity.

9.Beneficial Additions- Other helpful things to include can be taken while sipping something warm- Include these for supplementing to the program;

1-2 capsules kelp- raises metabolism
Green Coffee Bean Extract- great for energy
Thyroid Glandular- feeds the thyroid
Thyroid Formula- herbs that strengthen and balance
Chromium- 200 mcg. 1 x daily- blood sugar balancing
1 serving of nuts daily- people who eat this lose more weight– 20 raw whole cashews daily = equiv. to taking prozac
Take 2-4 psyllium husk pills with each meal- increase fiber, feel full
Add 1 tablespoon of psyllium whole husk flakes to your smoothie- fullness
Eat more seaweed- such as in miso soup or other vegetable soups
