Liver-Detox Broth

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. We suggest using either distilled water or fully filtered water from a Berkey, in order to avoid chlorine and fluoride in our public drinking water.

While waiting for the water to boil, cut up all the vegetables.  Clean but do not “over-clean” the vegetables or you reduce the mineral content in the peelings.

Add vegetables to the water and bring back to a boil. Add 1 teaspoon of Himalayan Pink Salt and stir. Turn heat down to simmer and cover. Cook for 1 1/2 hours.

Strain juice and put into quart mason jars.

Puree the cooked vegetables in a blender and store in a container. The puree is used to make a creamed soup base as a side dish for your meals.  After cooling, place the lid onto the mason jar and refrigerate.

Consume 1 quart daily or 3 cups, until drinking all of the broth. Drinking it between meals or 30 minutes before each meal is most recommended in order to support the liver with nutrients and minerals for cleansing.

Recipe 2

  • 4 Russet potatoes- peeled 1/8 inch deep, using both peel AND potato
  • 2 carrots
  • 4 sticks of celery
  • 1/2 head of red cabbage
  • 1 bunch of greens (kale, chard, collards, or spinach)
  • 3 beets
  • 1 large purple onion
  • 1-2 cloves of garlic minced (do not use too much garlic or it sometimes causes nausea or makes the finished product less neutral for ongoing use)
  • 4 large fresh tomatoes OR
    • 1 large can of organic tomato sauce OR
    • 1 large can of organic diced tomatoes OR
    • tomato paste
  • 10-12 quarts of filtered or distilled water

The broth volume should be not less than 5-6 quarts. If vegetables absorb the water so it is less than this, add enough water and stir to mix. Fill mason jars and cool. Refrigerate and consume 1 quart of broth each day for 5-6 days. The broth is good for 6 days.

Optionals

  • You can add Cellfood drops to each serving of broth for extra detox effects. Do not cook the Cellfood but add to warmed broth when served. Mixed Cellfood to cold broth will retain potency for up to 18 hours
  • Add 1 oz. of Liver Repair Tea and cook this into the recipe along with the vegetables
  • Add whole artichokes or eat artichokes throughout the week. Artichokes are great for liver health.
  • Take extra Vitamin C during the week
  • Add 1 tablespoon of predigested liquid protein to broth once daily for GI support and tissue repair.  This is exceptional for digestive problems.
  • Drink Liver Detox Tea daily throughout the week
  • If you do not like the taste, although most all do, add more tomato to the mix
  • Use the puree in other recipes throughout the week or as a creamed soup side dish, or freeze portions for later or in ice cube trays. Ice cube trays are great for this purpose. It also is a good addition to homemade baby food.
  • Using puree for soup, you can mix in yogurt, buttermilk, or canned coconut milk for variety. Add healing liver spices to your soup such as turmeric or curry
