The Original Dr. Christopher’s Anti-Plague Herbal Recipe

The Anti-Plague Formula is known today as the Immune Support Formula.  The purpose of this recipe is to offer immune support and anti-microbial remedy in a pre-prepared product which is stored for use, in the event it is needed.  In history– for decades, the Anti-Plague Formula has been used as an herbal medicine for times of epidemics, plagues, and pandemics.

The following contains 3 recipe variations that have been used to prepare this formula-

Dr. Christopher’s Anti-Plague Formula- to cleanse, detoxify, and nourish the body in order to promote healing

Mix liquid ingredients:

32 oz.  raw apple cider vinegar
32 oz. vegetable glycerin
2.5 cups raw honey
8 oz. fresh prepared raw garlic juice (takes 3-5 pounds of garlic)
8 oz. comfrey root concentrate  (due to warnings about taking comfrey internally today, I substitute boneset instead of comfrey)
4 oz. marshmallow root concentrate
4 oz. oak bark concentrate
4 oz. wormwood concentrate
4 oz. lobelia concentrate
4 oz. black walnut bark concentrate
4 oz. mullein leaf concentrate
4 oz. skullcap leaf concentrate
4 oz. uva ursi, hydrangea or gravel root concentrate

How to Make a Concentrate

No. 1  Prepare Each Herb Individually

Each herb concentrate in this recipe is made individually and not combined until later in the recipe.

Each Concentrate Liquid needs to be made ahead of time as a single and then combined.  There are 9 herbs.  You will need (9) 1 quart glass mason jars in order to prepare each herb individually as recommended.  The most cost effective way to purchase mason jars is by the case. Be aware that Kerr still considers 12 jars a case while Ball has converted to 9 jars for the same cost.

Next– sterilize your jars. Add the each single herb to a clean jar. After all herbs are placed, pour distilled water over the plant material to completely cover the herb.  Put the lid on the jar and allow it set on the countertop at room temperature for 12 hours.  After 12 hours, now add more distilled water to each jar to equal 16 oz. of water.

Take the 16 oz. of water and herb mixture and simmer on very LOW heat (not to exceed 130 degrees)  in a covered pan or double boiler for 30 minutes.  Next strain the liquid into a clean pan, and return back on very LOW heat, uncovered, and simmer to reduce down to one-fourth of the original volume (which will be 4 oz. ).  Prepare each single herb in this process and set aside. If preparing these over the course of 2 or 3 days, refrigerate your preparations whether finished or in process if longer than 12 hours.  Once all preparations are made, now combine them together. Refrigerate until mixing in the garlic juice if not prepared.

No. 2  Prepare Garlic Juice

Garlic Juice:  You will need between 3 to 5 pounds of garlic to make 8 oz. of garlic juice. Sometimes garlic is moist, and more dry in the off-season.  Peel the garlic and blend it with the vinegar using the pulse button so as not to liquify.  Let this mixture set for 3 days, shaking periodically during each day.  After 3 days, strain through a mesh strainer lined with cheese cloth, squeezing through all juice into a measuring cup.  Add more vinegar if necessary to equal 8 parts.

No. 3  Combining Your Remedy–  Assuming you have prepared the recipe correctly, expect it to yield about 1 gallon

  • Combine the prepared liquid herbal concentrates
  • Add 8 oz. of garlic juice
  • Add 32 oz. of raw apple cider vinegar (such as Bragg’s)
  • Add 32 oz. of vegetable glycerin
  • Add 2.5 cups of honey

Mix well and store in amber glass bottles in a cool dark place, refrigerator is recommended for long term storage.  There have been people that have used the Anti-Plague Formula 11 years after preparation for illness and it was still active and effective. In the event of flu or other contagious illnesses in your area, here is the dosage;

Adult Dosage:  1 teaspoon 3 times daily for prevention.  If infected, as a remedy, take 1 tablespoon every one-half hour.  Children’s Dosage is generally 1/2 that of an adult or if based on weight of an average 150 pound person, a child weighing 75 pounds for example would take 1.5 teaspoons per day for prevention and 1/2 tablespoon every half hour as a remedy.

The Anti-Plague Formula tastes terrible. Be prepared. Holding your breath while taking it and washing it down with some juice to follow and cut the taste is helpful.
