Natural remedies for chronic bladder infections–

1. Herbal Antibiotic- 1500 mg. 3 x for 2 days, reduce to 1500 mg (3 caps) 2 x daily for 12 more days for a total of 14 days.

2. Vitamin C- 1000 mg. 3 x daily

3. Vitamin E- 400 IU daily with a meal. This helps to reduce scarring in the bladder by hydrating lining tissue

4. Baking Soda- 1 teaspoon in water or tea, 1 x daily as maintenance.

During active bladder infection, add 1 teaspoon of baking soda + 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in 6 oz. of water every 8 hours short term- such as up to 3 days. Baking soda alkalizes the urine. Vinegar helps reduce bladder bacterial growth

5. Drink cranberry juice- this particular berry helps stop bacteria from sticking to the bladder wall and reduces the reoccurrence of bladder infections

6. Massage- apply essential oils over the bladder area directly. For a full body massage use about 25 drops of the oil combination to 1/2 cup of carrier oil. The best oils for bladder infections are;

juniper, eucalyptus, tea tree, and lemon– dilute this oil 1 part essential oil to 1 part carrier; if this irritates the skin, dilute further.

Essential oils can be applied directly every 2-3 hours. Using oils full strength without dilution can be done by applying them to the bottom of the foot. This will not irritate the skin and carry through the body within about 20 minutes.

7. Drink 1/2 gallon daily of water-tea combined. We have a special bladder tea at the store which can be used to make a tea concentrate and consume daily as a remedy. This tea also strengthens function of the bladder overall. We have an alternate tea if the kidneys are also prone to infection; Kidney Tea or drink 3 cups of Nettle Tea each day. Nettle Tea will also help lower blood pressure and clean up the kidneys. If the kidneys are not involved, avoid Nettle Tea since it is a diuretic.
